"The Lilly girl is always full of surprises. She lives everyday like it's a celebration. Never has a dull moment. And makes every hour a happy hour." -Lilly Pulitzer
Our first big drafting project was to draw the plan and elevation of a fruit or vegatable. But first we had to draw a picture, including color, of a classmates object which counted as one of our morning exercises before class! I drew Natalie's artichoke and was very impressed with myself that I was able to add color successfully! I really enjoyed this morning exercise.
Our second project was to create a container for a special object. I got this pearl bracelet for my high school graduation and I wanted to create a box for it the displayed it. The length of the box is the same as the bracelet. I created a hole on the door of the box so that when it was closed you still got a glimpse of what was on the inside.
The object below was my very first draft of my box.
Our project was to find two natural artifacts and bind them together using a linear object. I started with the purple flower on a green oak leaf. After being critiqued I wanted to find something with less color so the purple would stand out. I also like that both the flower and stick are similar in size and length.
This building seems out of place because of its authentic, almost Gothic appearance. It was fun to draw while sitting in the grass outside but it was tedious due to numerous lines in the building.
