First Wedding - Set Up

Today, April 29th, 2012, I was asked to help Susan Marie set up for a wedding at Graylyn International Conference Center in Winston-Salem. The site was incredibly gorgeous! I was shocked at the beautiful grounds and upon entering estate, the beautifully refinished interior is full of old world charm. The couple is having an intimate wedding of thirty guests with their ceremony outside in the "white garden" and reception in the "dining room wing"

BEFORE

AFTER

Below are photos that I snapped of the details and different tables that I was a part of helping set up before the wedding. Escort table, floral details, outdoor ceremony gazebo, fan details on chairs, and the adorable cake with their customized topper.

Styled Shoot

In March, I was able to be a part of a walk-through of the site we were going to photograph. Here are a few pictures of the sweet couple, Camden & Trent, that have been married for two and a half years. They didn't have any photos of just the two of them from their wedding day so, even though they were just "models", they were able to get some amazing photos together today and re-live their special day.

The cake that was rented for the photo shoot was from Cakes by Chloe

The photo below was taken in the basement of the Millennium Center, in front of an old holding cell, with a table, chair and left over champagne bottle from an event the previous night. We found the spot to be a great opportunity to stage a photo.

Hopefully I will be able to post the photographs that were taken throughout the day because these are no where near as great as the photos taken by professionals!

Millennium Center Venue Tour

Today was the first day of beginning to attend meetings for my summer internship. The objective to todays meeting was to meet with the designer and photographers that would be helping put together a styled photo shoot in April for Coordinated Weddings and Events advertisement in Triad Weddings fall/winter magazine. Below are some pictures that I obtained from the Millennium Center's Facebook page and Simply Southern Photography.
Here is an overall night view of the beautiful venue from W. Fifth St. in downtown Winston-Salem. The building used to be the old post office, as well as a courthouse and even holding cells in the basement. Once, it even housed a bowling alley on the first floor. Need less to say, this building is extremely versatile!
Here is a view of the beautiful courtroom, set up as a location for the ceremony of the wedding.
An amazing panoramic view of the hallway and lobby area with the venue. On the front side of the building, the old mail boxes are still within the wall and were discussed as a unique, vintage spot of photographing. Incorporating, skeleton keys hanging from ribbon and name cards would make the photos more personalized too.
The image above is considered the "Millennium Ballroom", a huge focal point of the venue that could offer space for ceremonies, receptions, dinners, etc.  Behind the vertical sheers are rustic, exposed brick columns that they typically wrap with softer material for weddings.
Lastly, is a photo I found on their page of the lobby that captured the mailboxes on the left, arched windows on the right, and beautiful ceiling details.

Can't wait until next month, to be involved in the actual styled shoot!!

New Year

Happy New Year!
Resolutions are expected at the beginning of a new year and I wanted to put mine in a place that I could look back to to see my progress through the year!

1. STAY ACTIVE! I want to finally lose these extra pounds (about 30 lbs) but most of all be healthy in the way I eat and active in my everyday life.
2. Continue a healthy and wonderful relationship with my boyfriend.
3. Find a job and hold a paycheck through the year.
4. Get a practicum for the summer, crossing my fingers for a wedding planning company.
5. Travel... when I can! Cruise for spring break & Charleston in summertime, please & thank you!
6. Build my wardrobe... even more! "I like my money where I can see it, in my closet"
7. Do good in school, bring up GPA and strive for A/B honor roll.
8. Volunteer and begin doing 5k races.
